Two Oklahomas: cheap in the south, twice the price in the capital

Oklahoma is 3rd cheapest out of 17 states in our price ranking, with an average of $9.11 across 102 coupons. That average hides a split state. Three small towns near the Texas border — Durant, Ardmore and Ada — post coupons at around five dollars, among the lowest prices anywhere in our archive. Oklahoma City and Edmond, a couple of hours north, average more than twice as much.

Another oddity: only 18 salons produced all of these offers. A few Oklahoma locations reissue coupons again and again, which is why the state has so many records from so few places, and why each individual offer tends to be short-lived — about 11 days on average, one of the shortest windows we see.

Has it changed since last winter?

The two halves of Oklahoma changed in different ways. Oklahoma City and Edmond got cheaper, from $13.99 last winter to around $11. The southern towns changed form rather than price: last winter Durant, Ardmore and Ada advertised fixed prices of $3.99 to $5.99, and in late summer 2026 they switched — like their neighbours across the Red River in North Texas — to “$6 off” coupons. Because our averages use fixed prices only, the summer bars are mostly the Oklahoma City side, which is why they look higher.

If you live around Durant, Ardmore or Ada, you are in one of the cheapest corners of the country for this haircut. In the OKC metro, look out for the area-wide offers that cover every participating salon in the region — they usually beat single-salon prices there.
